How to play shapel

Guess a hidden word from its shape!

The aim of the game is to find the answer on the third guess.

• The answer will be a common Australian-English word that is not a proper noun, acronym, or plural.
• Prefixes ‘un’ and ‘re’ and suffixes ’ing’, ‘ly’ and ‘ed’ are generally not in the word list.
• Only letters with the correct shape can go in a slot, e.g. _b_ in a tall slot, _y_ in a low slot and _a_ in a small slot.
• Any letter can be used in any space if it fits the shape. It does not have to be a real word.
• Letters will change to yellow if they are in the answer. It may or may not be in the correct place.
• If you get the correct word, your score will go up: 400pts for 1 guess, 300pts for 2 guesses, 200pts for 3 guesses.
• If you don't get the word, but you guessed something with all the right letters, you get 100 points.
• The 'number of words with this shape' clue is an estimation based on our custom word-list, you might know more words than the number says!
• There is a new word every day at midnight.
